Al Michelle Martinez
My creative process is driven by a deep curiosity to understand and explore the subjects I work with. While I primarily use oil paint, I also enjoy drawing and am expanding my practice in ceramics, where I continue to grow and experiment. Whichever medium I choose to work with, I constantly seek to learn more about it and how it can express my ideas. In my paintings, I focus on color and texture, exploring how different textures interact with the paint to create depth and tactile presence. I research color interactions to evoke emotion and meaning. As for my drawings, I enjoy using dip pens and walnut ink on paper to create loose images of reality, allowing for fluid, expressive lines.
