My practice deals with digital spaces and information, investigating what it means to paint images in the contemporary era. Processing visual information through digital means, manipulating images with computers, and then painting these images changes their meaning in new and unexpected ways. My interest is in discovering what happens to our perceptions of art when so much of our experience has shifted online. Abstraction, distortions, shapes, and figures coalesce, transforming and developing a new visual vocabulary as a result. Under the internet’s influence, my goal is to synthesize artistic and digital experiences, creating paintings with an awareness of the hyper-digitalization of our age.
