Lesson Plan #1: Cell Phone Selfies
This lesson was created to introduce the theme of identity through art to the students. In this project, students created a half-face self-portrait, or "selfie", as their phone backgrounds and added apps that were drawn and cut out on top of it. Students featured: Emily, Jill, Leonette, Brett, Devon, David

Lesson Plan #2: Kehinde Wiley Inspired Collages
In this lesson, students looked at Kehinde Wiley's artwork and created a project that was similar. Students were instructed to create a patterned background with cut paper and then place a cutout image of a person of their choice from a magazine. Students featured: Jaden, Leonette, Devon, Christine

I am a second-year, part-time, art teacher who is working on their degree in order to go full time. I love working with grades K-8 and am very passionate about art. I am well versed in art history, color theory, and many other art subjects.
In my free time, I like to paint and draw. I mostly make portraits and figures and occasionally paint landscapes.
