Kahmara Beckford
“Art therapy is a sacred space where individuals embark on a journey of self-exploration. It is an invitation to delve into the depths of one’s emotions, memories, and aspirations. Therapeutic art making recognizes the canvas as more than a surface for paint. It allows people to narrate the story of their inner world. Their canvas becomes a mirror, reflecting their resilience and untapped potential.
I believe in the liberating power of creative expression. Art can help people to articulate what words may struggle to convey. People can gain a sense of liberation—an unburdening of emotions, a release of the unspoken. The act of creation becomes a language of its own, transcending verbal barriers and facilitating a deeper connection with the inner self.
Art therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach; it is a dynamic and responsive process tailored to the specific needs, experiences, and cultural backgrounds of each person.”
