Why did I invite Caitlin Sullivan?

Mark Shetabi was born in Mineola, NY and lives and works in Philadelphia and Rome. He is currently Director of Tyler at Temple Rome. As a child he lived in Tehran, Iran until 1978, when his family fled the country on the eve of the Iranian Revolution. The experience of navigating two cultures, often in conflict, is an enduring subtext of his painting and sculpture. He is a recipient of a Pew Fellowship in the Arts.
