This work is a watercolor study of a female form blending into a mountainous landscape. Drawing inspiration from mythological tales and figures, this painting explores the manner in which female figures are imagined and presented in story telling. It is part of a series of works that explores archetypal female figures contextualized within myth, fable, literature or film and reinterpreted in modern context.

I'm a Canadian-American artist, and my work is fueled by a realistic view from, and of, my generation. My art is heavily inspired by my surroundings, and unique aspects of where I have lived. This manifests in my focus upon imagery like the highway structures of Texas, coastal and farm imagery of North America, and the emphasis seen in my urban landscape works of Philadelphia. I'm also inspired by literature and film, which presents in my exploration of narratives, history and character depictions.
