Waiting at the Window
Acrylic on canvas with television, 24”x28 1/4,” 2020.

I make art rooted in surreality, using art as a form of escapism. The playfulness and interactivity between the viewer and the abilities of mixed mediums confronts the traditionally-accepted way of viewing paintings. Inspirations of mine include trends in pop culture, cosmetics, environmentalism, and abstract sensation. Through these, I seek to recognize and capture the most “charming” aspects of life.

Currently, I am exploring the intersection of art and digital technology. My hobby of video editing has become an integral part of my practice as I consider the “future of painting”. Technologies such as augmented reality, video projection, and digital animation have motivated me to combine these with traditional art to provide a level of high interactivity to the viewing experience. "Waiting at the Window" is a painting that I have combined with a TV, cycling through different scenes.
