Some of my artwork acts simply as a stepping stool for the development of new technical skills, as I attempt to create realistic images from life or from reference photos using a wide variety of media. Many other pieces aim to explore the complexities of anxiety and its impact on my personality, self-perception, identity, and thought patterns. This is often, but not always, done through the use of self-portraits. My artwork also typically includes images of flowers due to my longtime obsession and fascination with their beauty, their vibrant colors, and their various forms. Sometimes, I simply explore these visual elements through realistic replications of flowers. Other times, as seen in my anxiety-related artwork, flowers symbolize a sense of hope or positivity.

Art Therapy ‘22
I am an artist from Folsom, Pennsylvania whose area of expertise includes drawing and painting. However, my journey as an Art Therapy student at Tyler has allowed me to explore a new range of media with which I was previously unfamiliar. In doing so, I have discovered many new ways to artistically express and navigate my deepest and most personal thoughts and feelings. As a future art therapist, my goal is to help others develop a similar skill and to recognize the therapeutic value of art by creating art for the purpose of self-exploration and discovery.
