Sometimes; in order to understand the grounding and presence of one’s self, physical contact is encouraged. For me at least. Finding moments of solitude and entering the enigma of our minds is difficult in public settings. Even deemed inappropriate to some. The process it takes for one to present comfort with themselves is erotic to me. I enjoy finding space where deep thoughts penetrate the mind, dismaying them from the several interactions and behaviors happening around them.

Art Therapy ‘22

Joshua Ulysses, a trans artist from central Pennsylvania via the Bronx, now residing in North Philadelphia. Her artistic mediums started sonically. Using tonality, electronics, and sparse minimalist structures to create a depth of musical feeling that is inconceivably vast. A life-long musician, Joshua was at first drawn to classical music and composition but, despite a natural calling, cites an uphill struggle against the industry’s various isms that led her down the path of esoteric visual arts.
