Julianne Borst

As a multimedia artist with a background in art therapy, I create as a way to process, relax, and feel emotion and peace. I create work focused on an array of subjects, from zany characters and collages to realistic environments and situations, by experimenting with different mediums including embroidery, weaving, drawing, photography, and digital design. I explore these mediums based on my mood and what my urge to create calls for at the present moment. That said, a therapeutic art lens guides my need to create, as I believe the process versus the product is the driving force within art and healing.

Art Therapy ‘22

Julianne Borst is a senior art therapy student from Downingtown, PA receiving her certificate in creative entrepreneurship. When it comes to art-making, she does not define herself by a singular medium, as she truly finds joy and comfort working with any creative material that happens to spark her interest. She believes that her personal experience with anxiety has helped her offer sensitivity and perspective when working with populations. Julianne is inspired by various artists, cultures, and music and enjoys singing in Temple’s Low Key A capella group in her spare time. Other pastimes include weaving, exploring the Philadelphia food scene, and laughing with friends and family.
