Morgan Ryan

Documenting my life is very important to my art practice. I love all of the memories that are attached to my art pieces, whether it was the process of making the art or the subject matter. Keeping a sketchbook consistently since senior year of high school has allowed me to play around with different ideas and mediums. It has also served as a timeline of my life and art. If you couldn’t tell I am a very nostalgic person, I could feel nostalgic for the moment I am currently in. Making art about a time in my life helps me hold onto it, makes it last a bit longer. I also tend to revisit topics in different mediums, it allows me to relive those moments over and over again in new ways. Learning and mastering new techniques is very important to me, it gives me another way to express myself.
