Sarah Gerlach

The appreciation of individual human experiences within our natural world inspires my artistic process. As an artist, I explore themes of identity, mental health, human experience, and our natural world through a variety of art materials. Art making is an anchoring point to the present moment through the tactile experience of art materials, igniting a sense of comfort in me. It comforted me to express my internal experiences in a visual language. This collection of work highlights the variability in my therapeutic art process over the course of my college career, capturing the beautiful complexity within us, each other, and our natural world.
