Sofia Antonela Martinez
Most of what I create comes from class assignments and prompts. Because of this, I’ve always felt indifferent about the term “artist” and somewhere along my path I began to favor “creative” instead. In the few moments that I have created for myself, they were because instructions were able to be interpretive and flexible. For these moments, what I create is largely inspired by current mood and the situation or phase of life that I happen to be in. My decision making process starts with choosing materials and then releasing what ever energy I have onto a surface. I gravitate towards materials that feel like an extension of my body and allow me to flow.
